Launching kids' minds into space

The number and variety of astronomy books aimed at children is now greater than ever. But given that astronomy is an easy subject to discuss with young children — the Sun, Moon and stars are familiar sights in the sky — it is discouraging that so few basic introductory texts have been published for a younger audience, and some of those that have are disappointing.
