The tomb of China's first emperor, the self-styled First August Emperor of Qin, is guarded by a terracotta army of up to 7,000 life-size and lifelike warriors, which were only unearthed in 1974. This is just one example of the mass production of exquisite Chinese works of art found throughout history.
