The US palaeontology community has been rocked by a Chinese 'bird' fossil that may be a new species, but that many suspect to be be a composite of more than one fossil that was smuggled illegally out of China.The fossil was bought last year at an Arizona mineral show for $80,000 on behalf of a small Utah museum.
