Stanford accelerator takes lead in race to quantify CP violation

Abstract
Two international teams are competing to measure B-meson decay. Their results will change our understanding of physics and of the Universe.
The B-factory at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) is poised to win an international race to quantify a critical element in the Standard Model of particle physics.The accelerator is approaching full power faster than its designers expected.
