Trevor Lamb1
Alan Hodgkin, who died on 20 December 1998, was one of the greatest physiologists of the century. He set the foundations for much of modern neuroscience by explaining the origin of the nerve impulse, in an enormously productive collaboration with Andrew Huxley.
