Eruption dynamics:  Rumbling geysers (and volcanoes)

Scientists are as susceptible as anyone to the spectacular and beautiful eruptions of geysers. Volcanologists, though, have a special interest in geysers as laboratories where they can study processes that might also occur in volcanoes1.
