Chemical kinetics: Smaller, faster chemistry
Klavs Jensen1
Chemical kinetics is the study of mechanisms and rates of chemical processes, in anything from biological systems to man-made materials. To measure the rate of reaction between two chemical species, they must be mixed much faster than the reaction rate — otherwise only the mixing rate is observed.
- Klavs Jensen is in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and of Materials Science and Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139-4307, USA.
