Arecibo enters 'new era' in astronomy

After extensive renovations, jointly funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, an inauguration ceremony will be held on Saturday (14 June) at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, the world's largest radio telescope.The $26-million project has taken five years to complete — twice as long as expected.
