Abstract
CELLS in G1 or G0 usually progress through the cell cycle and stop in metaphase when colchicine is added to the growth medium1–6. I have observed, however, using two different experimental techniques, that mouse C1300 neuroblastoma cells reversibly arrested in G0 by serum limitation7 are unable to re-enter the cell cycle in the presence of colchicine.
