Late Pre-Cambrian Glaciation in Australia as a Stratigraphic Boundary

An Erratum to this article was published on 09 July 1971

Abstract

The widespread occurrence of Late Pre-Cambrian glaciogenic sedimentary rocks provides an ideal situation for the establishment of a worldwide Pre-Cambrian chronostratigraphic unit. In this article such a unit based on the well exposed and well documented Late Pre-Cambrian glaciogenic rocks is proposed for use in Australia. It is hoped that the unit will eventually be accepted for use throughout the world.
