Abstract
Goodall1–3 and Suzuki4 have reported seeing wild chimpanzees use objects as tools to obtain food. Goodall has also summarized previous reliable reports, and Hall5 has summarized data and discussed several aspects of the use of natural objects as tools by several groups of animals.
