Abstract
RECENT developments in rubber elasticity theory have led to the recognition that measurements of elastic properties of gels and rubbers near the gel point are of special value1–3. The need to develop new methods of measurement has been foreshadowed2. We describe here a method under trial for materials in the range 103–105 dyne cm-2 (but which could be extended well beyond this range), the importance of which stems from its rational basis.
