Identification of Electrically Recorded Curve Patterns associated with Aphid Salivation and Ingestion

WE recently described a technique to record electrical potential changes associated with aphid feeding and salivation1. At that time, no definitive correlations could be made between the aphids' feeding or salivation activities and the recorded information. Since then, further research has shown some very definite correlations between aphid activity during a probe, and the curves produced on a chart recorder.
