The principle of the method involves the copoly-merization of a small amount of polyfunctional compound such as pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, trimethylol propane, with ethylene glycol and adipic acid. The polyfunctional compound is added to a polyethylene adipate of a high degree of polymerization; the polymer is then slightly depolymerized by heating at atmospheric pressure in nitrogen and then repolymerized, with the incorporation of the pentaerythritol, at 0 · 1 mm.
