A Jungle Tribe of Malaya
Abstract
OF the three jungle peoples of the Malay Peninsula, Jakun, Sakai and Semang, the last-named are probably the best known to the outside world. As a racial group of low stature and negroid appearance, they form a link in the chain of pygmy and pygmoid peoples extending with intermissions from West Africa to New Guinea, their nearest affinities in south-eastern Asia being the Andaman Islanders and the Aetas of the Philippines.
