Abstract
In this connexion the following remarks on the measurement of the standard metre in terms of the wave-length of the red cadmium line may be of interest. If L and Æ represent, respectively, the length of the metre and the number of wave-lengths, λ, contained in it, we may write L=Æ1λ1=Æ2λ2 .
