Instructions on downloading and using the Nature MS Word template
We have designed a Nature template for use in Microsoft Word. PC and Macintosh versions are downloadable from the links below. We request that authors use the template when submitting their final revised paper for publication in Nature. Failure to use the template may delay publication of your paper.
The template contains a collection of style tags or labels that can be applied using a toolbar to headlines and paragraphs within a word-processed document. Applying such tags changes text into a standard typeface and font size. But more importantly, by labelling text with a particular style we are able to avoid some of the problems of incompatibility and font substitution that may occur when we import word-processed text into our typesetting software. This decreases the time required to process papers as well as ensuring that errors are not introduced during typesetting.
Style tags in the template should be deleted before submission.
Please note that Nature is able to accept Word 2007 files, provided that they are authored from the beginning in Compatibility Mode. For more details, please refer to the ‘Instructions for using the template’ link below.
