Regulation of in vitro Transcription of the Tryptophan Operon by Purified RNA Polymerase in the Presence of Partially Purified Repressor and Tryptophan

Abstract

Purified RNA polymerase initiates transcription on trp Operon DNA at or near the correct initiation site. Addition of partially purified trp repressor and tryptophan blocks this transcription.
