'Triple negative' high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ. (a) This case of high grade ductal carcinoma in situ exhibited the 'triple negative' phenotype (estrogen receptor negative, progesterone receptor negative, and negative for HER2 protein overexpression). (b) Immunostain for basal cytokeratin CK5/6 demonstrates variable staining of the neoplastic cells.
