Immunophenotype of basal-like carcinomas. (a) SMA and (b) p63 positivity was present in a minority of tumors, with immunoreactivity being detected in only a small percentage of tumor cells. (c) Most tumors showed strong luminal cytokeratin 8/18 expression throughout the tumor. (e) Vimentin positivity was characterized by strong and diffuse immunoreactivity.
