How site license pricing is calculated

For site license access to Nature Research journals and Scientific American

Site license access to any Nature Research title (including Scientific American) or academic journal on nature.com can be purchased on an annual basis. A current site license provides online access and continuing access to all material published during your site license supply period (usually 12 months – with the option to renew at the end).

With a site license, customers are also granted access to a specified archive that generally includes full access and rights to the previous year.

Site license pricing is calculated using:

  1. Institution type
  2. Institution size, using size bands:

Pricing is quoted for a one-year subscription unless otherwise indicated.

Continuing access

Continuing access rights apply to all purchased content. Springer Nature site licenses now offer full rights and access to the purchased year as well as continuing rights and access to the previous year at the start of a new license.

We continue to guarantee continuing rights to all licensed content.  You can read more about our access policies here.

For online access to Nature Research journal backfiles not covered by your continuing access agreement

Online access to journal backfiles not covered by a current or previous journal site license supply period can be purchased as complete calendar years.
