Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and Palgrave Macmillan are proud to participate in the following collaborations between publishers and with organisations representing our institutional customers.
CLOCKSS
NPG has been involved with CLOCKSS since its pilot launch. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS - Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) is a joint venture between the world’s leading scholarly publishers and research libraries whose mission is to build a sustainable, geographically distributed dark archive with which to ensure the long-term survival of Web-based scholarly publications for the benefit of the greater global research community.

Portico
NPG entered an agreement with Portico in September 2007, and Palgrave Macmillan also joined in November 2007. Through this agreement, NPG and Palgrave Macmillan ensure that their publications are preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. NPG has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico and has designated the Archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims for library members. UKSG TRANSFER Code of Practice
The goals of the TRANSFER Code are to establish a set of standards that would apply whenever a journal is transferred from one publisher to another and to encourage the industry to embrace these standards as a baseline level of quality and performance. NPG and Palgrave Macmillan have publicly adopted the code.
