Three-dimensional reconstruction. Representative two-dimensional views from 3D reconstruction of the normal (ad) and MCT treated (eh) rat pulmonary vasculature are displayed. 75 optical sections (1 mum step size) were used to construct the image views, note the marked loss of vasculature in the pulmonary hypertensive MCT treated lung. Additional 3D animations can be viewed online as Supplements at http://www.nature.com/labinvest.
