(a) Admission computed tomography scan demonstrates new low-density regions in the basal ganglia; (b) admission T2/FLAIR MRI image with extensive symmetric areas of increased signal intensity within bilateral basal ganglia; (c) a follow-up T2/FLAIR MRI scan performed 6 weeks after the initial presentation demonstrates complete resolution of T2-weighted signal abnormalities.
