Abstract
This paper presents the work of the sixth Consensus Committee on Recommended Standards for Newborn intensive care unit (NICU) design. Recommended standards for NICU structure, lighting, noise control, infection control, family support and other design considerations are offered, along with supporting interpretations, references and a glossary of terms.
