Genes in Ischemia
- The interruption of blood flow to any part of the brain can have devastating effects. Indeed, brain ischemia is a leading cause of death and disability in the aged population. The complex nature of ischemic injury has complicated the search for effective prevention and treatment. Recent advances in the study of genomics have lead to promising leads in the research of ischemic prevention, diagnosis and treatment. This special web focus by the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism presents many of the most important recent articles in this quickly developing field.
