Dr Robert C. Lowe is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Gastroenterology Section of Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). He also serves as Associate Director of Education for the Department of Medicine. Dr Lowe received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH) in Boston. He pursued subspecialty training in gastroenterology at BUSM where he served as a Clinical Fellow. He later served as Chief Medical Resident and was on the Gastroenterology faculty at BWH, before returning to BUSM. His clinical focus is in hepatology, and his practice encompasses all aspects of liver disease. His research interests include the evaluation of new treatments for viral hepatitis, the management of cirrhosis and the complications of advanced liver disease, and the study of fatty liver disorders.
