p65 maintains senescence
How NF-kB functions in normal cells prior to immortalization and transformation is poorly investigated. Using a senescence model to mimic a tumor suppressor barrier that cells must overcome to initiate immortalization, Wang and colleagues describe how NF-kB functions in pre-neoplastic cells by maintaining a senescence state through its regulation of DNA repair and genomic stability.
