The Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon in southeast Iceland results from the melting of the Vatnajökull glacier. Huge blocks of ice constantly break off the glacier and luminous blue icebergs float on the lagoon. Due to the changing climate, the glacier has retreated considerably over the last decade, doubling the size of the lagoon. The photograph was taken by Miguel Mano, a postdoctoral fellow at the ICGEB, Trieste, Italy.
