Networks - Decomposition of fallen leafs begins at the macroscopic level, resulting in amazing graphical arrays of colors and structures. The picture was captured near Heidelberg, Germany, with a Nikon D2X digital camera using a 60 mm macro lens. Digital raw image processing was performed using Adobe Photoshop. The photographer, Wolfgang Seifarth, is molecular biologist at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. His main research interests focus on the impact of endogenous retroviral elements (HERV) in the human genome, on marine biology, and closeup photography in nature.
