The White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum), along with the similarly-sized Indian Rhinoceros, is the largest species of land mammal after the elephant. Jan Postberg (University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany) took this image at sunset near a waterhole in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Botswana. The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust is a community-based wildlife project which was established in 1992 to help save the vanishing rhino.
