Seeing through the eye of a fly - A light microscopic image of the Drosophila compound eye, displaying a regular array of ommatidia and the photoreceptor rhabdomeres (red) within them. This picture was captured by Alan S.L. Wong, a graduate student in the Laboratory of Drosophila Research at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His current research concentrates on the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders.
