Different views of the cryoEM reconstruction of the tail machine from bacteriophage P22 superimposed on an image of tail machines embedded in vitreous ice. The particle closest to the front shows the x-ray model of the tail spike protein (one of five different gene products in the assembly) fit to the cryoEM density. The image was prepared by Dr. Liang Tang. Please see the article by Tang et al on page XXXX of this issue of The EMBO Journal for further information.
