Rothschild giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi) can reach heights of 5.5 m, but can also lower their heads to as close as 0.5 m above a camera lens. Their tongues are approximately 45 cm long. The image was taken by Volker Wiersdorff while on a trip through Kenya, using a Sony DSC-F828 digital camera at 28 mm focal length.
