Cover. Lipid staining on a c-Jun-deficient liver section. In the absence of the AP-1 transcription factor, c-Jun, numerous lipid-containing droplets accumulate in hepatocytes which can be stained with Oil red O. The original image was captured by A.Behrens, a group leader at Cancer Research UK, London, and modified in Photoshop by M.Sibilia, a group leader at the Department of Dermatology, University of Vienna Medical School. E.F.Wagner is Senior Scientist/Deputy Director at the IMP in Vienna and his laboratory studies the function of AP-1 genes during mouse development. For further details see Behrens et al., pages 1782--1790.
