Cover. A ribbon diagram of the human Xrcc4 dimer. Xrcc4 forms a stable complex with DNA ligase IV and is essential for non-homolous end-joining in DNA double-strand break repair. Knock-out of xrcc4 in mice results in embryonic lethality. Wei Yang is a senior investigator at National Institutes of Health. Her group studies structure and mechanism of DNA repair. For further details see Junop et al., pp. 5962--5970 and also http://www-mslmb.niddk.nih.gov/yanggroup.html
