From 10-14 September 2006, thousands of chemists are meeting in San Francisco to discuss everything from natural products to nanotechnology. Here we present a list of sessions the Nature journal editors will be attending at the American Chemical Society Fall Meeting, a special chemistry edition of the Nature Podcast, our chemistry blog, and a selection of exciting chemistry papers from several Nature journals which are free to view for a limited period.
Wish you were there? Or maybe you are at the ACS and need a hand keeping up to date on all the sessions? No problem. Nature has people scouring the conference and blogging about their adventures. So keep checking 'The Sceptical Chymist' for updates on what promises to be an exciting meeting.

- Each week Nature publishes a free audio show – the Nature Podcast – which features highlights from news and articles published in Nature. In the second Chemistry Podcast, Dr. Simon Frantz talks with the authors of some of the most exciting chemical and biochemical content that has appeared in recent issues of Nature, Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Materials, and Nature Methods.

- Are you a skeptical chemist? Find out at 'The Sceptical Chymist,' a blog by the editors of Nature and the Nature Research journals, and a forum for our readers, authors and the entire chemical community. We'll discuss what's new and exciting in chemistry, be it in our journals or elsewhere. We hope for spirited conversation!

- The 2006 Fall Meeting of the American Chemical Society, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, has a wide range of sessions that look interesting – here are a few sessions and talks that we'll be attending. Check out our blog to see what we thought of them...

- 'Lab on a chip', 'Surfaces and Interfaces', and 'Metalloproteins' are just a few of the Insights and Web Focuses published by Nature in the past few years. Here is a complete list of chemical and biochemical Insights and Web Focuses.

- Our editors have selected a number of exciting chemistry papers that 'caught our eye' for one reason or another and were recently published in Nature, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Materials, and Nature Methods. We hope you enjoy reading these papers as much as we did!
