Scope: This collection deals with the rising importance and development of cognitive science as a dynamic, interdisciplinary field involving the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. Developments in neuroscience and understanding of the brain, mind and body have already strongly influenced other areas of research, such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, linguistics, art and literature, film and media. These have influenced the way we understand the human mind, emotions and the way we behave and interact as social human beings. Furthermore, they have has also changed the way we understand language and communication. This collection presents research touching on cognitive sociology, perspectives on self, mind and brain, and the influence of cognitive science on the understanding of art, media, communication and language. 

All papers submitted to Collections are subject to the journal’s standard editorial criteria and policies. This includes the journal’s policy on competing interests.
