Nature Reviews goes clinical
From the moment Nature Publishing Group (NPG) launched the first Nature Reviews titles in 2000, they gained a reputation for publishing superbly illustrated reviews written by leading international researchers. The Nature Reviews titles in the life sciences quickly became the highest impact-factor journals in their fields.
In April 2009, NPG enhanced, redesigned and rebranded the Nature Clinical Practice journals into Nature Reviews, extending the quality and impact of the Nature Reviews brand into eight clinical specialties.

The last issues of the Nature Clinical Practice titles appeared in March, 2009. The April, 2009 issues were the first to be published as Nature Reviews.
I subscribed to a Nature Clinical Practice journal. Will I automatically get the associated Nature Reviews journal for the remainder of my subscription?
Yes, your subscription will automatically be upgraded and you will receive the new Nature Reviews journal as part of your subscription.

Have the aims and scope of the Nature Reviews journals changed?
No, the journals continue to publish a mix of news, opinion, and review articles to keep clinicians up to date with the latest advances in medical research.
Will the Nature Reviews publish original research?
No. When Nature Clinical Practice Cardiovascular Medicine was rebranded in April, 2009 it no longer published original research.
We have no plans to introduce original research into any of the clinical Nature Reviews journals.
Will users be able to download PowerPoint presentations of the figures from the Review articles?
Yes, this functionality will still be available.

I had a paper published in a Nature Clinical Practice journal. Will the citation to that paper change?
No, the citation will remain the same and the article will continue to be indexed in MEDLINE in perpetuity.
What will happen to the impact factor of the Nature Clinical Practice journals?
The clinical Nature Reviews journals will receive their first impact factors in June 2011. The Nature Clinical Practice journals will receive their last impact factor in June 2012. ISI, the company that calculates impact factors, will allow the two impact factors to be averaged in 2011 and 2012 to give the "unified" impact factor of the two journals.
I would like to write an article for one of the new Nature Reviews journals. What should I do?

Yes, searches will continue to include both journals.
Since the URLs have now changed, for how long will the redirect be in place for the old URLs?
All the articles published under the Nature Clinical Practice brand have been moved to their new Nature Reviews sites. In addition, the old Nature Clinical Practice URLs will be redirected indefinitely to the new Nature Reviews URLs. Furthermore, all old DOI's will resolve to the articles in their new locations.
