Cytochrome c is not released from S2 cell mitochondria during UV-induced apoptosis. (a) Drosophila S2 cells were UV irradiated and at the indicated times the P10 and S100 fractions were isolated and analyzed by immunoblotting with anti-cytochrome c and anti-DrICE antibodies (above). Caspase activity was measured in S100 from UV-treated cells using DEVD-afc as substrate (below).
