We are seeking to appoint a junior academic to contribute to the development of research and teaching in Prosthodontics.

You should be eligible for full GDC registration. A higher (doctoral) degree and evidence of the ability to undertake research in Prosthodontics or related subjects are essential. This post includes clinical, teaching and research responsibilities with emphasis on Prosthodontics and recognition has been
sought for specialist training in Restorative Dentistry under the auspices of the SAC in Restorative Dentistry.

A suitable successful candidate is expected to receive a National Training Number. This Clinical Lectureship post allows you to spend time in clinical training, teaching, administration and further research. Educational approval is
being sought from the Postgraduate Dental Dean.
The Training Programme is equally open to those who may, either from the outset or subsequently, wish to train flexibly or job share.

An exciting opportunity now exists to work in the new Dental Academy based at the University of Portsmouth.

From September 2010 the new University of Portsmouth Dental Academy will offer an outreach training opportunity for fifth year KCLDI dental students in a true primary care setting.

King&#8217;s College London Dental Institute has an international reputation as the largest most influential centre of excellence in the UK for oral and dental research with an outstanding record for quality assurance in learning and teaching, while the University of Portsmouth delivers well-established training programmes for dental care professionals.

An innovative model of team-based training will be offered, where dental and dental care professional students learn to care for patients side by side, undertaking complementary programmes designed to enable the next generation of dentists and dental care professionals to work in new ways that optimise
professional skill.

King&#8217;s College London Dental Institute seeks to appoint a number of forward-looking tutors for from 2 to 8 sessions a week to train and educate dental students at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy from May 2010.

The role of these teachers will be to undertake clinical teaching and participate in clinical, other service and research activities as directed by the Head of Department and will appeal to those who would enjoy the challenge of a new and dynamic environment.

You will be employed by the University of Plymouth and will be appropriately qualified with experience in dental education. Salary will be at clinical academic level commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applications are invited from suitably qualifi ed dental surgeons for this half-time post.
You will be appointed to a tenured post, subject to a statutory probationary period, to undertake teaching and scholarship duties in Restorative Dentistry, particularly removable Prosthodontics, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, there will be one session per fortnight of patient treatment involving Restorative Dentistry. There will be an opportunity to undertake research and support the research goals of the institution.
No specialist clinical training will be provided during the tenure of this post and thus an NTN will not be issued.
You must have full registration with the General Dental Council and you will be subject to health clearance and Disclosure Scotland checks. An appropriate honorary NHS contract will be issued.
