ADVANCE DENTAL CENTRE, CHELMSFORD - An insertion of a skillfully designed dental surgery into an impossibly constrained site, the layout of the Advance Dental Centre is intrinsically ergonomically efficient and provides for the highest standards of cross-infection control. Patient circulation is separated from that of staff, which helps to calm patients, as well improving hygiene standards. The less there is in the surgery, the less there is to keep clean: a storage wall accessed from both sides houses all services, instruments and materials. Lying in a dentist's chair looking at the blue sky and clouds through a carefully placed rooflight must soothe even the most frazzled nerves. (Extract from the RIBA Awards 2004 publication) Dr Andrew Moore, Advance Dental Clinic, 104 Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 O9G Tel: 012 4526 8494. Email: info@advancedentalclinic.com
