Introduction
The natural alternative to amalgam

Trycare is pleased to announce the launch of the new Cerana Inlay System from Nordics Dental, which they claim is the natural alternative to amalgam and composite.
Trycare claims the Cerana Inlays are a quick and easy way to fabricate long lasting ceramic inlays in a single visit. These enable dentists to provide their patients with all the advantages of ceramic inlays, but without the inconvenience of impressions and laboratory procedures.
Manufactured from a translucent glass ceramic consisting of leucite crystals in a uniform and densely packed distribution, Trycare claims their inlays are highly resistant to fracture. Resembling enamel in nature they are strong, hard, non-deformable and have the same wear rate as teeth. Consequently they maintain a harmonious occlusion with the surrounding dentition and do not abrade the opposing teeth. For more information phone 01274 881044.

DTC Electronic system
The DTC Electronic endodontic system from Prestige Dental is an advanced unit that is fully programmable with five memory locations to help automate operating procedures.
The auto stop reverse features automatically reverse the direction of rotation of the file when a defined torque level is reached, reducing the occurrence of file breakage while lessening procedure time. Saving customised settings is achieved using the front panel controls.
Other advantages and features include a console which Prestige Dental claims is simpler to use than other high end systems, and the Aseptico's autoclavable brushless motor which they claim is more reliable than other brush motors and has a greater range of torque, as well as the greater ability to control speed and torque than stepper motors.
Also from Prestige Dental is the Formatron D-10, which is an anatomical apex locator. The Apex locators can save time as they reduce the need for multiple radiographs. The Formatron D-10 is a next generation apex locator that uses high and low frequency bands to pinpoint the apical constriction. Using the Formatron D-10, the anatomical apex can be located in seconds.

The complete endodontic system for your surgery

Dentsply is pleased to introduce the first complete endodontic system designed to make root canal therapy procedures simpler, easier and more efficient.
Dentsply claims the SystemGT is a complete endodontic system. Rather than assembling all the different components dentists need to perform successful root canal therapy, they can now get everything in one compatible system.
The SystemGT offers fully integrated components where each GT Rotary file has a corresponding GT Obturator. Dentsply claims these are designed for quick and easy matching of the final shaping objective file with the correct obturator.

Have you got Swedish steel in your surgery?

The Dental Directory offer a wide range of endodontic products for dentists to choose from including paste fillers, k-files, Hedstrom files, k-reamers, s-files and finger pluggers.
The s-files, Hedstrom files, k-reamers and k-files are made from specially formulated Sandvik Swedish stainless steel that the Dental Directory claims is not affected by sterilisation in an autoclave or hot air.
The Dental directory also claims they are all highly resistant to breakage and are extremely flexible, to facilitate delicate endodontic procedures. The handles are injection-moulded with thermoplastic, which can withstand temperatures of up to 180°. All files come with a contra-angle grip for use in endodontic handpieces and have sterilisable silicone rubber stop rings.

Less debris removal with the K3

KerrDental offer a wide range of endodontic products including the K3. The K3 is a rotary nickel titanium file, which is designed to cut quickly and safely with unparalleled debris removal.
KerrDental claims this enables the dentist to maintain full control of the instrument whilst experiencing fewer fractures. Unlike normal U-shaped files, the K3 incorporates 'radial land relief' to reduce friction on the canal wall and the 'positive rake angle' results in an efficient cutting performance as opposed to the scraping action of other rotary instruments.
The K3 comes complete with 10 tip sizes (15-60) with simplified colour coding. Tapers 0.04 and 0.06 are also available.

The Heliodnet generator from Minerva

Minerva Dental supply the complete range of units from Sirona Dental Systems. The range includes the Heliodent DS unit which is the latest addition to the Heliodent range.
Minerva claims that compared with conventional single pulse generators, the Heliodent DS's multipulse generator delivers harder, more highly energized radiation. Minerva also claims this results in excellent definition, outstanding detail recognition and a balanced contrast across the entire image at a lower 60kV exposure voltage.
Due to the lower proportion of soft radiation it also reduces the skin surface dose by 20%. In combination with the beam limiting device this keeps radiation exposure to a minimum.
Minerva also claim that thanks to its multipulse capability the Heliodent DS requires a voltage of only 60kV for optimum imaging results; this is equivalent to 73kV in single pulse units.
