This book on neuroanatomy covers in 188 pages much what is known today on the subject. It starts with an overview of the entire topic, including basic neuroanatomical principles, development and anatomy of the central nervous system, and basic clinical diagnostic principles. The following chapters discuss different parts of the nervous system separately in detail. Special attention has been given to present relevant material and in a very clear and illustrative manner. Anatomy is a highly visual subject and this is present throughout the work, with many illustrations and high-quality photographs. Chapter 8 describes the spinal cord, external features and internal structure. As in the other chapters, reference is made to anatomical–clinical syndromes, which are described in short. Knowledge to retain is highlighted in differently coloured areas. Chapter 17 deals with problem solving of diagnosing based on clinical neurological examination.

This book can be of real benefit to medical students and as reference for all health-care providers caring for patients with neurological diseases. It reads and looks nice.
