Vallecular cyst is a rare cause of inspiratory stridor in neonates. We report the largest single-center series in the literature of vallecular cyst in infants. All of the ten infants (B.W. 2100-4020 gm, G.A. 33-40 wks) were diagnosed by flexible bronchoscopy and/or computed tomography, over a three-year period from 1994 to 1996. The sex ratio of male to female is 5:5. The onset of illness ranges from 7 day to 1 month. The size by CT scan ranged from 0.5 × 0.5 to 1.5 × 0.7cm. Table

Table 1

Histop\athology of the specimens showed squamous epithelium containing mucous glands in wall of the cyst. Most of the symptomsand signs improved postoperatively. Significantly rapid weight gaining was observed following surgery.
