Abstract
Theoretical conformational analysis was carried out for Ac-(L-Ala-D-Ala)12-NHMe, a model polypeptide of gramicidin A, using ECEPP and the conformational energy minimization procedure. Through the analysis, the hypothesis on the interaction in polypeptide molecules was used. Calculated results showed that right-handed β4.6-helical structure is the most stable conformation, and that β6.2-helical and α-helical structures are also stable conformations.
