Differential Activation of Maternal and Paternal Loci in Seed Development

Abstract

IN many leguminous species the first generation hybrid seed of a cross between two varieties closely resembles the seed of the maternal parent; as a result pronounced differences may be observed between reciprocal crosses of two parental lines.
