Caspase activity sows the seeds of neuronal death

Abstract

Caspases, proteases involved in programmed cell death, may have a role in Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s diseases. Localized caspase activation and apoptosis may be linked to the initiation of such chronic neurodegenerative diseases.
