In the News & Views ‘Nanotechnology: DNA self-assembly scaled up’ by Fei Zhang and Hao Yan (Nature 552, 34–35; 2017), a production error led to the diameters of the stacked planar rings made by Wagenbauer et al. being reported as up to 35 nanometres. The actual diameters were up to 350 nm.
