Analysis of molecular expression in the prefrontal cortex of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunits and their interacting proteins of the postsynaptic density reveals changes of transcript and protein expression of opposing polarities, suggesting altered cellular processing of the NMDA receptor complex in schizophrenia.
